Student teaching has officially taken over my life. But, I’m okay with that. It has been going really well and I’ve been learning a lot. Only 2 weeks left with my sweet fourth graders and then I’ll go on to my last eight weeks with a second grade class. bittersweet!
Yesterday I left school early because I was feeling super sick. How kind of my students to share their germs....

Tomorrow I have my midterm/formal observation with my university supervisor. first of all, I’m kind of nervous! Second of all, midterm???? I don’t want March to get here - I am loving every day with these kiddos.

Tuesday night ramblings
I taught my fourth graders all morning and it went great! I had so much fun, got to use the Promethean Board, and I think they actually learned something ;) My cooperating teacher had nothing but good things to say. I’m proud of myself. I know I’ve still got a lot of learning and growing to do, but I feel like I am off to a wonderful start.
Today rocked because the sun was FINALLY...
I can’t decide if it’s a choice getting swept away
but I like it.
What an eventful week!
On Monday, I turned 23 and started my first student teaching placement. My birthday was weird without Maria around - but we got to chat for a little while. She is in the field until the 24th so we are skyping when she gets back :-) My teacher and students are so wonderful already. I’ve done a lot of observing, co-planning, and started a little co-teaching. Today we...
Just received an e-mail from my 4th grade cooperating teacher that I will be spending the next eight weeks with starting on Monday. I am so excited - and she is already so welcoming. This is going to be a great placement, I just know it!
It’s so weird writing 2013. Its so weird that is IS 2013. Been waiting for this year for a whiiiile .. I am so excited for what lies ahead :)

This is super random. But I miss my sister/twinny/best friend! And I am so proud of her and thankful for what she does. I could never do it. Sporting my ARMY shirt today.. represent ;)
I GOT MY STUDENT TEACHING PLACEMENTS!!!
This is all starting to get real - I’m actually finishing this MT program and graduating in May. WOAH.
But first - I get to teach 4th grade for eight weeks and then 2nd grade for eight weeks :-) I. AM. STOKED!
The only bummer is that I am at two different schools. Not sure why I am bummed about that - I just always assumed I would stay in one school...
I can’t stop thinking about all of the families in Newtown Connecticut.Families that are not having a Saturday lunch with their children today, families that do not get to take their children to see Santa today, families that do not get see their children’s faces light up Christmas morning, families that have to go the rest of their lives without those that they care about most because...
I had a really great night last night :)
Finally got to see the movie Lincoln! AND, recognized the scenes they shot right here in Richmond, on the set that I got the chance to walk on. So, so cool!
Getting ready to get some Christmas shopping done before heading to work. I haven’t even started and it’s getting closer and closer.. ahhhh!!!

Took my advanced educational psychology final this afternoon and went to my ethics class capstone.. feels good to check those classes off my list :) only 2 more to go! And now I’m cuddled on my couch, in my pajamas, watching elf, and drinking hot tea. Life is good today.

First, November felt like it was like 5 days long.
Second, I went for a run outside today in shorts and a t-shirt.

Spent the last hour and a half putting a huge dent in some reading for my home-school communication class. It is now 10:30, on a Friday night, and I’m in bed.
I substituted in a first grade classroom today and the kids were crazy. I’m blaming the full moon. And it didn’t help that they currently have no playground due to renovations. So. Much. Energy!

It is 10:00 and I’m laying in bed. Grandma status over here. I am exhausted.. and it’s only Monday. Gonna be a long week.
School is SO overwhelming right now..
and rather than crossing things off my giant to-do list guess what I am doing? listening to Christmas music and partaking in Cyber Monday ;-)

me: We only have 3 sessions left. Can you believe how fast time has gone? student: What does that mean? me: I’m only going to see you 3 more times. student: noooo! I want to do it all over again from the beginning.

Now back to the grind. And this weekend I was the queen of procrastinating. It is now 11:35 and I’ve yet to write my lesson plans for tomorrow - oops! Getting on that right now..

My big sis is coming to RVA tonight for some food and drinks - SO. EXCITED! all THREE seeeesters will be reunited again ;-) I think two of my cousins and two other family friends are coming up too! tonight’s gonna be a good night
SO I am cleaning this apartment like crazy, then running to the grocery store, and then I’m going to have a fabulous weekend!

I have had such an off day
Ended the night last night by getting home from work at 12:30am - and then realized I had the supervisor key in my pocket. Had to drive back to the other campus, return the key, and drive back home. So I got to bed much later than I wanted last night this morning.
Hit the snooze button about 3 times this morning. Got ready for tutoring and had no time to eat breakfast....
So thankful for 73 degree weather in November :) I enjoyed a long run outside today soaking up the last bits of the pretty fall colors. And, relieved some stress. ..I got back from Missouri a little after midnight last night because United Airlines SUCKS. Never flying with them again. Took a midterm this morning (more like a 3/4 term - HELLO we are more than half-way through the semester and...
